First we will be traveling about 20 minutes north of The Pas to see the rare carnivorous Pitcher Plants and to collect bog cranberries in this bog area. Then we will be traveling about an hour down the Sherridon road where we will collect blue berries, Labrador tea and kinnickinick. While out, we will prepare a medicinal tea and make blueberry jam to go on our bannock snack!
Dress for the weather. Bring your trowel, snippers or knife, twine, collecting bags/buckets and rubber boots. You might want to wear or bring your traditional ribbon skirt/shirt when touching the medicines (if you have one). We will travel in our own vehicles.
Using these plants that YOU have collected is a beautiful way to connect and honour Mother Earth!
Bring a friend! Suitable for all levels. Kids too!
Cost: $15 which can be e-transferred to email@example.com Register early as there is limited spots. Meeting at 2pm at: Aurora Sacred Healing Centre 130 3rd St. W. The Pas, MB.
