About the Event
Hosted by: Adrianna Sawchyn and special Guest, Sherwin Moore
Cost: $5 donation to local charity
Aboriginal people have been using medicinal plants from the Boreal forest traditionally for thousands of years. We are going to have the opportunity to travel about 1 hour south of The Pas to Barrows, where local Knowledge Keeper, Sherwin Moore of OCN is going to help us collect traditional plants such as Ratroot or “Wegis”, Colts foot, Raven’s beak, Bearberry, and joint grass. What a beautiful way to connect with Mother Earth!
Meet us at 10am at Aurora dressed for cool, wet weather with your shovel or trowel, snippers, knife and rubber boots. You will need to pack a lunch and bring your own water too. You are welcome to travel in the hosts’ vehicles.
