About the event
Indigenous people have been using medicinal plants from the Boreal forest traditionally for thousands of years. We would like to honour these teachings of the medicines Mother Earth provides.
We will be traveling about 45 minutes west of The Pas to the Saskatchewan border area. Here we will collect Rat root (weegas), and other medicines we might find like Labrador tea and kinnickinick.
Dress for cool, wet weather with your trowel, snippers or knife, twine, collecting bag and rubber boots. You might want to wear or bring your traditional ribbon skirt/shirt when touching the medicines (if you have one). We will travel in our own vehicles.
Using the medicines that YOU have collected is a beautiful way to connect and honour Mother Earth!
Meet at: Aurora Sacred Healing Centre 130 Third St. The Pas, Meet at 1pm. We will travel in our own vehicles. .
